Public Health Update for Families

Families,
Public Health has asked that the following information be shared with families:
COVID-19 Vaccinations
Yesterday, the provincial government announced that children and youth 12-19 years are now eligible to be booked to receive their COVID-19 vaccines at various community clinics and pharmacies across the province.
COVID-19 vaccination appointments must be made online at https://www.novascotia.ca/vaccination or by phone at 1-833-797-7772.

School-based Vaccination Program
Parents/Guardians of children in grade 7 this year may be wondering about the second round of school-based immunizations.
Public Health staff will administer this second round in the fall of 2021. They will do both age cohorts (grade 7s and the grade 8s) at this time. Public Health had been hoping to do some summer clinics to complete the second round for the grade 7s, but with COVID vaccination demands this most likely will not be possible.
Parents/Guardians can be reassured that receiving school-based vaccines will be spaced so that they will not interfere with the timing of COVID vaccinations.
Stay safe, stay well.
