August 19, 2020

Dear Caledonia families,

My name is Andrea Pugsley-Connell and I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the incoming principal of the Caledonia Junior High School for the 2020/2021 school year.  There will be many new faces here at the school, including the vice principal (Andrew Swinemer) and the school counsellor (Danita Williams).  Andrew and I are excited to meet and work with Caledonia students, staff and families.

We know many students and their families are eagerly awaiting additional information on Caledonia’s reopening.  Over the next few weeks you will be receiving more information from the Halifax Regional Centre for Education (HRCE) and directly from Caledonia’s administration regarding school operations and routines. There will be many new routines for students, families and teachers to navigate. We will communicate new routines the last week of August to help support a successful opening to the school year.

As we move through this unique situation, we recognize that there will be more questions.  We are open to working together to ensure student health and safety.  As more information becomes available we will ensure that information is provided to you through Powerschool Alerts (email or automated telephone call) and our school website.  We have been at Caledonia over the last few weeks developing plans and procedures.   If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to myself or Andrew Swinemer.

Kind Regards,

Andrea Pugsley-Connell
