Caledonia Junior High

Chromebook collection

June 16, 2021

Dear Families,

The end of the school year is quickly approaching, which means it is time for students to
return all school-assigned technology – namely Chromebooks and chargers. Most of this process
will take place throughout the days of Wednesday, June 23rd (Grade 9; after finishing assessments)
and Thursday, June 24th (grades 7 & 8). Once we start this process, teachers will not require
students to have access to technology.

We would ask that your child bring their Chromebook and charger to school on Monday,
June 21st. As of Monday, students will no longer be permitted to bring their Chromebooks and
chargers home.

Even if your child is in Grade 7 or 8 and will be returning to Caledonia next year, their
Chromebook and charger must be returned before the end of this school year so it can be cleaned
and updated for September. We will be re-distributing Chromebooks in the fall, and your child may
not end up with the same Chromebook next year.

Ms. Comeau, Ms. Crowell and many other staff members have worked hard all year to
maintain detailed records of Chromebooks assigned to students based on serial numbers. This will
allow our school-based IT Support person to de-activate any HRCE Chromebooks that are not
returned by June 25th, 2021.

Families may be responsible for the replacement costs associated with Chromebooks
and/or chargers that are not returned (as indicated on the contract families signed in the fall), so
please take some time over the next few days to look for any Chromebooks and/or chargers that
have been missing at home. Below are sample pictures for your reference.
Thanks for your support and assistance in this process.

Sincerely,

Caledonia Junior High School
